how it works
it’s pretty simple, really
No rocket science involved. Learning Thai online is as easy as 1, 2, 3! Three simple steps and you are ready to learn Thai online. No software to install, just a video call using Google Hangouts or Skype. So grab a pad and pen then get comfortable!
get set up
You probably already have either Skype or Google Hangouts installed. If not, just search for the app and get the free download.
If you’re on an Android device, you’re already set!
book a class
Book a free trial or schedule a class.
We’ll send you an email confirming the time and date and attach the study materials for you to print out or open on your screen.
Make sure you’re available at the agreed time and wait for your teacher to call. Simply answer the call and your first lesson begins.
Enjoy your Thai class!
Just like a regular classroom
Your Thai teacher will call you from a private classroom dedicated to teaching online. Our school has small designated rooms for privacy and to optimise the sound quality over the video call. We use laptops running Linux, but you can use anything from a Mac to a PC, or an iPad to an Android tablet. Any device that lets us call you is fine – nothing else is required. We recommend printing out the study materials we send you, but you may just want to open them on your screen. It’s also worth having pen and paper handy to take notes just as you would in any other classroom.
Meet the team
We offer only Thai lessons because that’s what we specialise in teaching.
Online Thai lessons cost from US$18 to US$25 depending on the number of lessons purchased.
No, it doesn’t matter what level you are at, beginner or otherwise. Your Thai teacher will assess your current Thai language level and recommend suitable study materials based on your goals.
Bookings and Cancellations
Just send us an email with preferred date and time to email@example.com. We’ll book it if it’s available or suggest alternatives.
You can pay online using PayPal or a credit card after we have scheduled your lesson times. Just click on the ‘buy now’ buttons on the ‘buy now’ page for the number of classes you require.
You may postpone a class as long as you give us 24 hours notice, or 48 hours for classes scheduled for Mondays.
The class start and finish times are scheduled and cannot start early or finish late. You will lose that time.
You will lose that lesson. We will then contact you by email to make sure you will be available for the next scheduled lesson.
We make up any lost lessons caused by a fault on our part.
It’s just like sitting in a classroom with your teacher except you’re separated by the video call. Once you try it, you’ll find it’s quite natural.
We will send you a reminder email 24 hours in advance of your class (48 hours over the weekend), then your teacher will call you via Skype or Hangouts at the appointed time.
Thai classes are 50 minutes in duration, starting on the hour until 10 minutes to the hour.
They are yours to keep but should not be copied.
This depends entirely on your goals and how quickly you progress. Every learner is different! If you are a complete beginner, then expect to need at least 20 lessons to see any result.
We try to give you the same Thai teacher for all lessons, but this may not be possible in the event of sickness.
Classes are available Monday to Friday, between the hours of 02.00 GMT and 12.00 noon GMT. Visit here
to find out your time relative to GMT.
Certainly! If requested, PLS will post you a certificate stating how many Thai lessons were completed and what level was achieved.
We have full-time staff available to assist you. Just email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Teachers aren’t available outside your lesson time, but you can email email@example.com
No, it’s very simple. As long as you can answer a call in Skype or Hangouts, then you will do just fine!
To ensure good quality video and audio we recommend a broadband internet connection or 3G on a mobile device. If you are not sure about your internet speed, take a free trial lesson to make sure everything is working OK.
You need a regular PC or laptop running Windows, Linux or Mac OS. A webcam is not required, but it is easier for the teachers if they can see the students. If you are not sure about your setup, take a free trial lesson to make sure everything is working OK.
Nothing except Skype or Hangouts, which you possibly already have. There is nothing else to install.
